Wireless Authority Clint Wheelock Joins ABI Research

Oyster Bay, NY - March 7, 2006 - ABI Research is pleased to announce that respected wireless technology expert and market analyst Clint Wheelock has joined its management team as Vice President of Research.

Wheelock's primary responsibility at ABI Research is the management of industry research content across the full range of the firm's technical expertise including the core practice areas of broadband, wireless, RFID, and transportation. A well-recognized industry authority, he will also interface regularly with clients and the media.

"There is a growing need for high quality market assessment in the global technology industries we cover," said Tim Archdeacon, ABI Research's president and founder. "Convergence is the catalyst for that demand. ABI Research has been the preeminent player in these markets for 16 years, and our focus remains on growing client value. Clint's career has been built on a foundation of research and strategy, which gives him a unique perspective and the experience to lead our research content and services-focused growth."

Prior to joining ABI Research, Wheelock was Vice President, Wireless at the NPD Group, where he established and expanded the company's wireless research practice focused on mobile devices, multimedia content, and voice and data services. He also served as Director of Wireless Research at In-Stat, where he managed analyst coverage of worldwide wireless technology and end-user markets. His previous industry experience includes senior product management, new product development, and marketing strategy positions focused on mobile wireless, broadband, and consumer video services at Qwest Communications and Verizon Communications (then GTE).

Wheelock commented, "I am excited to be joining ABI Research at a time of dynamic growth and change for the company, and for the industry as a whole. ABI Research has an impressive track record in its deep coverage of emerging telecom and electronics markets, and I look forward to building on that foundation, working together with the company's teams of top-notch industry analysts."

The previous Vice President of Research was Edward Rerisi, who, since 2003, has overseen a period of rapid growth and expansion at the firm. Rerisi, who personally managed the entire research organization over that time, will now focus his efforts on the operations side of research. "Ed's operational skills are crucial to ABI Research's growth as we continue to expand our presence globally," commented Archdeacon. "Research Operations has become a full time job, distinct from the content side of research, and with Ed free to devote more of his energy to operations and implementation management, we can better pursue the many opportunities we see before us."

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in New York, ABI Research maintains global operations supporting annual research programs, intelligence services and market reports in automotive, wireless, semiconductors, broadband, and energy.
