Fonix Releases New and Improved VoiceIn 4.1 Voice Recognition Solution at 06 Developers Conference

SALT LAKE CITY-- March 21, 2006--Fonix Speech Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fonix Corp. (OTCBB: FNIX), providing speech technology solutions and interfaces for video games, mobile devices, handheld electronic products and systems and processors, will demonstrate an upgraded version of Fonix VoiceIn(R) Game Edition at the 2006 Game Developers Conference (GDC), Booth 439, March 20-24 in San Jose, Calif. This new 4.1 release is the most accurate voice recognition solution from Fonix for the video game market.

Fonix's award-winning VoiceIn software for adding voice interfaces to video games is available for Microsoft Xbox(R), Sony PlayStation(R)2 and PC video game developers. Fonix VoiceIn is optimized for game development where memory and processing power are at a premium and is built upon Fonix's proprietary neural network-based automatic speech recognition. A total of 13 video games are available on the retail market featuring Fonix speech technology.

"At Fonix we understand the dynamic nature of the video game industry," said Tim K. Hong, Fonix VP of Games. "Fonix speech engineers continue to improve our voice recognition for video game developers to meet their ever-changing needs for more creativity, more development options and more control over the interface. Fonix VoiceIn continues to be the best software of choice for multi-platform developers looking for voice interface options for video games. Continued improvements like those in our new 4.1 release ensure the best tools for developers and, ultimately, the best experience for players."

VoiceIn 4.1, based upon Fonix's new and improved ASR technology, improves voice recognition accuracy. Additionally, this release provides added filters and controls that allow game developers to better block background noise and exclude words that aren't included in the command dictionary.
