fastmobile and Globe Telecom Announce Commercial Agreements for Launch of Fastmobile Experience
30th March 2006 – Globe Telecom of The Philippines and fastmobile, the leader in the design and supply of integrated messaging and content access solutions for mobile network operators today announced the execution of contracts and the upcoming launch of services in The Philippines. This agreement enables the creation of VAS and delivery to the more than 12M
subscribers of Globe Telecom. With the fastmobile experience (fmx™) users
are able to utilise presence based applications for mobile IM such as Chikka, MSN, Yahoo and others as well as an integrated native address book along with a host of integrated messaging features. fmX™ enables multimedia functionality such as text, picture and video messaging along with gaming,
Voice Instant Messaging and business applications. These services deploy
on both 2.5 and 3G networks, which Globe plans on launching in the near future.
With this announcement, fastmobile adds The Philippines to a growing list of countries that include China, South Korea, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and the USA, where fastmessenger is marketed commercially by mobile operators and telecoms service providers.
The agreement brings fastmobile’s innovative fmx™ services to one of the world’s most advanced mobile telecommunications markets, The Philippines.
The service, currently planned to be marketed under the Globe brand, will offer Filipino mobile phone users a one-of-a-kind integrated combination of integrated messaging and advanced multimedia messaging features.
