Mobile Entertainment Awards Shortlist Announced
London, 16 May 2006 – MEF has announced the shortlist of companies for its 2006 Mobile Entertainment awards, the Meffys.
As the industry’s official benchmark for measuring success and rewarding innovation, the Meffy shortlist is a ‘who’s who’ of mobile entertainment success stories and visionaries from around the world. It honours the companies and individuals who are pioneering new ideas, technologies and business models that are shaping the mobile entertainment industry. Last year’s winners included an array of industry heavyweights including Endemol, Nokia, Orange and Vodafone.
The top entries for each category were selected by panels of independent industry media and analyst experts.
Rimma Perelmuter, MEF Executive Director, commented: “The high calibre and volume of entries this year reflects the vibrant nature of the mobile entertainment market. Companies reaching the shortlist range from major global brands through to dynamic start-up companies, each significantly contributing in their own way to the growth of mobile entertainment.”
The Awards will take place alongside Mobile Entertainment Market (MEM) 2006 at Islington’s Business Design Centre, London. Winners will be unveiled by Pete Tong at an awards ceremony sponsored by Motorola and Sun Microsystems on 24 May 2006, in front of an assembled crowd of industry leaders and media.
