Satellite Security Systems Passes Major Milestone in its Homeland Security and Law Enforcement
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 3 -- Satellite Security Systems, Inc. (S3), a wholly owned subsidiary of Satellite Security Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: SSCY - News), announced today that S3 has exceeded the 100 arrest mark as the company supports its diverse law enforcement and Homeland Security clientele.
"This type of success is exactly what S3's solutions, including S3's 24/7 Monitoring and Support Center (MSC), were built for. S3 provides the solutions and infrastructure that are proactive in providing safety and security to all of our clients. Homeland Security and various other law enforcement agencies we serve have embraced our technology and are aggressively deploying it in ways that lead to immediate results," explains John Phillips, founder of S3 and CEO of Satellite Security Corporation.
Recently, S3's technology was deployed to track suspect activity in the Northeastern United States by one particular federal law enforcement agency. That agency, who remains unnamed for operational security reasons, utilized the support of S3's technology and its MSC to monitor, track and help affect the seizure of drugs with a street value in excess of $1.1 Million. That successful operation follows on the heels of other seizures with various respective agencies throughout the Unites States. S3 has been involved in the seizure of 700 pounds of marijuana as well as other seizures involving ecstasy and cocaine shipments. These seizures, all totaled, account for street values in excess of $3 Million.
In addition to drug seizures, throughout the last year S3 has helped to facilitate an increasing number of arrests across the country. Tracking of rape and murder suspects, as well as drug and human smugglers, are just a few examples of the type of law enforcement operations the company has supported.
S3 first introduced its technology to the law enforcement community in early 2002, shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Since that time, S3 has offered covert surveillance programs for monitoring the location and activity of suspects across the country, bait car programs to fight auto theft, and recently has begun to see its technology used to monitor parolees, including sexual predators, released into the community after their release from prison. Currently S3 supplies law enforcement solutions to over 60 Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
"S3 takes pride in being a leader in providing solutions for law enforcement. We have leveraged our past experience and have been working closely with Homeland Security initiatives so that not only do we give law enforcement the tools they need, we also strive to help identify and build solutions that make this country safer. Homeland Security, in our minds, also extends into the food chain, the petrochemical industry as well as to school safety and the safe transportation of our children," adds Phillips.
In 2003 the company was the first to demonstrate the remote shut down of a fully loaded petrochemical tanker truck by law enforcement using S3's technology and its MSC. Since then, S3 has been recognized by various legislative bodies as having solutions and technology that must be considered for future regulations this country faces relating to Homeland Security.
S3 is also applying that same technology to other markets where security is critical. Recently, S3 entered into the School Transportation market through a major OEM agreement with one of the nation's largest school bus manufacturers. Through that OEM agreement, S3 is adapting its technology solutions to ensure the safety and security of students while being transported to and from school on school buses.
The company sees no end in the way its technology can be applied for Homeland Security efforts, law enforcement operations, as well as the many other security concerns faced by both the government and commercial sectors.
