Argogroup and Mobile Research Deliver World’s Most Complete Handset Database

Surrey, UK, 05 September 2006 – Argogroup, the leader in user experience optimization for mobile services, and Mobile Research, a US mobile tools and services vendor, have announced the launch of a strategic partnership. The merger of the device repositories of both organizations creates one of one of the worlds largest “as tested” device data bases. The robust device data set will allow mobile developers to deliver higher quality value-added services and mobile applications.

Device information fragmentation affects everyone in the mobile application and mobile content development lifecycle. Mobile developers, designers, product managers, and producers spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get an accurate picture of the capabilities of the many devices that they are targeting. This takes valuable time and energy away from the core task of developing great mobile applications.

Great mobile content helps the operators increase revenues and decrease churn. It also provides a new mobile channel to entertainment and advertising companies with which they can interact with consumers. Hence, the pressure to deliver high quality mobile content affects the entire industry value chain, making it imperative that all parties understand the core capabilities of the devices that consumers are holding in their hands.

Augmenting its own device information data set, Mobile Research will immediately offer the Argogroup European Device Profile data base as a new product. In turn, Argogroup will offer the Mobile Research US Device Profile data for use within Argogroup's Monitor Master product. This will provide a benefit for companies who need to test and monitor the behavior of mobile applications targeted at the US consumer. Customers interested in speaking with either Mobile Research or Argogroup will be able to meet both companies and the upcoming CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2006 event in Los Angeles, 12-14 September.

"We've been getting a lot of requests for European device data from our current customer base, as well as prospective clients," said David Adams, CEO, Mobile Research. “We are very excited to be able to offer European device data that matches the level of quality we strive to provide in or U.S. database."

Commenting on the new partnership, James Pearce, COO of Argogroup said, "Mobile Research has a reputation in the industry of delivering high quality mobile device data for the US market. We are pleased to improve our own capabilities by enhancing our Monitor Master's testing and monitoring capabilities for the US market.” He concluded, “With the Mobile Research data option for Monitor Master, our customers will now be able to test and monitor what data and services will exactly look like on a US mobile device."
