Masternaut Acquisition of GE Mobile Solutions Creates a Unique End-to-End Mobile Solution
Leeds, UK, 19 September 2006 - Masternaut has acquired GE Mobile Solutions, the division of GE specialising in mobile computing technology for business. The acquisition gives Masternaut the ability to provide the industry's most advanced and resilient mobile communications technologies. The move makes Masternaut the only telematics provider to offer a comprehensive, fully featured end-to-end solution for managing both vehicle fleets and remote personnel.
Masternaut is already the market leader in the UK telematics sector with its innovative web-based vehicle tracking system. Masternaut expects the combined business turnover to increase to GBP 20 million with the GE Mobile Solutions acquisition adding over 8000 users with Blue Chip clients, (including Coca Cola, Siemens, Coors and ATS Euromaster).
GE Mobile Solutions was formed in 1984 as Three-X Communication Ltd, becoming part of GE in 1995. Masternaut will fully integrate the company's existing mobile computing technology and industry solutions, boosting their current product offering. The current GE Mobile Solutions business will return to the name Three-X Communication Ltd, and will be expanded with operations continuing from the current offices in Skipton, Yorkshire.
