Cbeyond Customers Benefit from Nationwide Wireless, High-Speed Internet Access Through Collaboration
ATLANTA-- Cbeyond®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a leading IP-based managed services provider to small businesses, today announced its BeyondMobile™ Laptop Access service. The new service provides Cbeyond users with nationwide mobile broadband access, enabling connectivity to email, Internet, corporate networks and business applications by using a 3G EV-DO Rev A mobile network, which removes reliance on Wi-Fi hotspots.
Using the new BeyondMobile Laptop Access service and a Sierra Wireless AirCard® 595 PC Card, customers will be able to wirelessly access online information nationwide at broadband speeds. The AirCard 595 is designed to provide simple, high-speed connectivity, while minimizing battery power consumption; the AirCard automatically disconnects when a local broadband connection has been established.
With peak data transfer speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps on the downlink and up to 1.8 Mbps on the uplink, the AirCard 595 with BeyondMobile Laptop Access service allows users to efficiently download and send large files from anywhere. Laptop Access provides secure access to corporate networks using Cbeyond’s remote user VPN and is compatible with all other Cbeyond applications.
