iSECUREtrac Provides Active GPS for Sheriff's Office in Montgomery County, VA
OMAHA, Neb., Feb. 20 -- iSECUREtrac Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: ISEC - News), an industry leader in electronic monitoring solutions, announced today that it has been awarded the contract for active GPS by the Sheriff's Office in Montgomery County, VA.
New to electronic monitoring, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will use iSECUREtrac's active GPS to help alleviate jail overcrowding by moving low risk, non-violent offenders to community supervision supplemented with active Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitoring. The iSECUREtrac active GPS monitoring system provides location data and notification of violations in real-time via a cellular network.
According to Captain Robert Hall, "The real benefit of GPS technology is that it provides officers with the information they need to ensure monitored individuals are in full compliance with the terms of their release. Our officers have set up zones throughout the community so that we know if the offender is at work, when they're at home or where they are anywhere in the community. After looking into GPS options, we decided to utilize iSECUREtrac's product since it is highly established and in use by other agencies, including many Sheriff's Offices."
The cost of electronic monitoring will be paid by the program participant further reducing tax payer burden.
