Packeteer Integrates SkyX and Mobiliti Technologies for Advanced Mobile Application Acceleration
CUPERTINO, Calif.-- Packeteer® (NASDAQ:PKTR), the global leader in WAN Application Optimization, today announced the availability of its Mobiliti 7.0 solution that integrates the company’s Mobiliti and SkyX technologies to deliver the first mobile / Small Office Home Office (SOHO) computing software package for file and TCP-based application acceleration, and automatic desktop data backup. Packeteer’s Mobiliti 7.0 solution also provides offline access to centralized file servers by automatically caching recently used file shares so remote users have anytime, anywhere data access even in the absence of a network connection. With this release, Packeteer now further extends its reach beyond the branch office to provide accelerated, LAN-like access and security with 100 percent Microsoft compatibility across a wider range of business critical, TCP-based applications for mobile and SOHO users everywhere. With Mobiliti 7.0, enterprises no longer have to deploy additional networking equipment at SOHO and remote locations, slashing capital and maintenance costs. At the same time, remote users at the extreme edge of the network, whether they are mobile laptop or individual desktop users, will now have real-time access to centralized email, web and file sharing applications.

Mobiliti 7.0 bundles the TCP latency and data reduction technologies from Packeteer’s SkyX product with the automatic backup and offline network access technologies of the company’s Mobiliti product line. Additionally, Packeteer’s Mobiliti 7.0 product features:
A choice of backup target locations that includes FTP and WebDAV servers in addition to traditional file server locations
Automated configuration and backup of commonly used local desktop directories such as “My documents” as well as critical data such as PST files

Pricing and Availability
Mobiliti 7.0 is available as a free upgrade to existing users of Packeteer’s Mobiliti product. New user pricing is consistent with current combined Mobiliti software and SkyX hardware pricing. The Mobiliti 7.0 software solution is in Beta now, with commercial availability in March 2007.
