CTIA – The Wireless Association® Welcomes Jay Driscoll as Director of Government Affairs


WASHINGTON, DC — CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced today that Jay Driscoll has joined the wireless trade group as a Director of Government Affairs. Driscoll brings almost ten years of extensive telecommunications and government experience with him to CTIA – The Wireless Association, including past roles as a state public service commission economist, Capitol Hill staffer and trade group government affairs executive.

"With his experience, background and demeanor, Jay will quickly become a valuable asset at CTIA," said CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent. "To be successful in today's environment you must have knowledgeable and experienced professionals communicating your organization's message, and this is exactly what we have in Jay," continued Largent.

Prior to joining CTIA, Driscoll served as the Independent Telephone and Telecommunications Alliance's Legislative Director, where he coordinated legislative and regulatory strategy for member companies serving in 43 states. Driscoll has also worked on Capitol Hill, spending three years in the Office of United States Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) where he focused on a host of technology issues, including; Internet taxation, E-911, spectrum reform, universal service and inter-carrier compensation.

He began his career with the Montana Public Service Commission where as an economist he focused on public utility economic rate design analysis and the implementation of Montana's competitive telecommunications regulatory framework.

Mr. Driscoll earned a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Montana.
