Spirent® Communications Expands Its Drive Test and QoE Benchmarking System
SUNNYVALE, Calif.-- Spirent Communications (NYSE:SPM) (LSE:SPT), a global provider of performance analysis and service management solutions, announced today expanded capabilities for its award-winning Diversity benchmarking and drive test solution. Diversity now tests CDMA2000, EV-DO Rel. 0 and Rev. A networks as well as GSM/UMTS wireless networks in the 850/1900 MHz bands. Network operators using these wireless technologies and bands can now continuously test quality of service and benchmark network performance against competitors’ products and services.
Diversity’s new capabilities allow network operators to test a broader range of strategic services to ensure optimal subscriber quality of experience (QoE). They also allow the monitoring and analysis of wireless video telephony, mobile TV, multimedia and simultaneous voice/data, with tests that are driven by Spirent’s proven voice and video quality algorithms.
“Spirent’s Diversity is the network optimization tool chosen by operators around the globe,” said Nigel Wright, vice president of product marketing at Spirent Communications. “For the first time, Diversity’s QoE benchmarking capabilities are available to the CDMA market, and it has expanded capabilities for the UMTS market. Now, more service providers in North America and elsewhere can take advantage of this proven solution.”
Diversity is a powerful platform that provides simultaneous, end-to-end testing for voice, data and video, a unique feature that makes drive testing easier and more cost effective for network operators. It offers a highly scalable drive test solution that meets the demands for network benchmarking today – and in the future. Flexible test configurations and scheduling, combined with sophisticated data analysis and reporting, provide critical information about problems within a network before customers experience them.
Spirent’s wireless test solutions aid in all phases of mobile device and wireless network development and deployment for the world's manufacturers and mobile network operators. Spirent’s extensive experience in RF and wireless protocols has led to it being considered the “one-stop-shop” for CDMA mobile device performance, application and certification testing. More recently, Spirent has leveraged this success to bring performance analysis solutions to the UMTS market. Spirent offers drive test and smartphone solutions that perform network optimization, benchmarking and service monitoring, enabling mobile network operators to ensure quality of service (QoS) and quality of end-user experience (QoE). The company’s wireless core infrastructure performance test systems for GPRS, UMTS and CDMA help network operators and equipment manufacturers to identify performance ceilings, enable vendor selections, and plan network capacity prior to deployment, to facilitate smooth service delivery.
