International Recognition Continues for AdMob as the Mobile Entertainment Forum Honors the AdMob
AdMob, the world’s largest mobile advertising network, has been awarded with a MEFFY for its ‘Innovative Business Model’ at the Mobile Entertainment Market (MeM), the official annual event of the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF).
The Meffys have developed a reputation as one of the industry’s most fiercely contested prizes. Judged by independent panels of media and analysts, the fourth annual awards attracted 50 per cent more entrants than in 2006. From the 200 entries the judging panels selected a shortlist featuring applications from 20 different countries across four of the five continents.
Rimma Perelmuter, Executive Director of Mobile Entertainment Forum, said: “Congratulations to AdMob for scooping the inaugural Innovative Business Model Award at the 2007 Meffys. This was a new category introduced this year to recognize the latest pioneering business models in mobile entertainment. The judges chose AdMob Marketplace on the basis of its impressive results to date and its ability to target and personalize advertising to handset users across the globe.”
The award marks the further acceleration of the AdMob Marketplace, which has seen 3.2 billion ads served in just over a year. The 2007 Meffy is the latest in a series of global accolades for the company joining recognition as winners/finalists for the GSM Awards, the Mobile Marketing Association Awards, The Mobile Star Awards, Business 2.0’s 2007 Next Net 25 hottest startups, and the 2006 BusinessWeek M-Commerce Barons distinction.
AdMob allows advertisers to target users by country, language, carrier, phone brand, phone model, behavior and OS, using AdMob’s self-serve web tools with transparent and robust reporting. Recently, AdMob has announced the addition of a landing page tool to help advertisers without mobile web presence get started in this rapidly growing medium.
