Bebo Goes Mobile With NewBay
Dublin, Ireland – 28 March 2007 – NewBay Software, the leading provider of mobile multimedia and social networking solutions, today announced that its UGC Gateway now supports interaction with Bebo, one of the world’s largest social networks. Beboers will now be able to upload images and text, browse profiles and receive text alerts to their mobile phone. Orange UK today announced that it is the first mobile operator to partner with Bebo. Orange UK customers will be able to stay in touch with their friends on Bebo, meet new people and express themselves anytime, anywhere from any Orange phone.
NewBay’s addition of Bebo to its UGC Gateway demonstrates its leadership in delivering the most advanced family of solutions based on mobile user generated content to mobile operators worldwide. NewBay’s UGC Gateway gives mobile operators the flexibility to configure media uploads through one click posting, shortcode or through a custom link on the handset. Bebo is a global social networking website which aims to bring together likeminded individuals who are creative, expressive and socially aware. It has a membership of more than 31 million world-wide.

The UGC Gateway enables Mobile Operators to connect to multiple third party sites such as Bebo, including posting media, viewing WAP pages and sending text alerts to users’ devices. UGC Gateway manages the integration with third party sites and routes the multimedia content to the requested blog/album service(s).
NewBay’s live mobile operator services are currently processing in excess of 1 million picture messages a day and creating over 10MB per user per month in high resolution photo uploading. UGC Gateway is available now to mobile operators worldwide as a software license product or an ASP making it simple to deploy.
