Louisville Water Company Deploys GO! Sync Mobile GIS

Carlsbad, CA, April 30, 2007 – TC Technology announces that Louisville Water Company (LWC) has successfully implemented GO! Sync Mapbook with Redline Extension. GO! Sync was initially selected as the mobile GIS standard for LWC because of its intuitive sketching and mapping capabilities, coupled with its seamless integration with the LWC’s facility data in an ESRI ArcSDE geodatabase. Following deployment, the Mapbook suite of tools has allowed LWC to better equip key field and office personnel with decision support data and information.

LWC provides water to more than 800,000 people in the Greater Louisville, Kentucky area averaging 127 million gallons of water delivery per day.

GO! Sync, which was deployed by LWC prior to the 2006 / 2007 winter season, proved invaluable during both routine work and emergencies. During extended cold weather the mobile GIS enhanced responsiveness to increased water main breaks and other system issues, thus assisting in effectively restoring service to customers.

The valve isolation tracing, which includes re-calculations based upon unavailable valves, was used for both assessing outages and planning project work. Along with the trace results, information pertaining to affected water services is listed allowing field personnel to better determine the overall impact on the customers.

James Bates, Manager of GIS, Infrastructure Records and Surveying for LWC states, "LWC has invested in managing its pipeline infrastructure through GIS. GO! Sync Mapbook offers a way for the Company to truly build on that investment by equipping field personnel with up-to-date information and capabilities they have not had before…and have it be driven by the GIS data."

GO! Sync Mapbook with Redline Extension is a complete mobile solution built for organizations invested in ESRI's ArcGIS software. Rendering directly from a geodatabase, GO! Sync provides a suite of field-friendly tools such as searching, tracing, sketching, and routing on an extensible application framework.
