Symbian Welcomes the Sony Ericsson P1
London - Symbian Ltd. today welcomed Sony Ericsson’s announcement of the P1. The P1 is the fourth Symbian OS v9.1 and UIQ 3.0 enabled phone in the Sony Ericsson portfolio, following the, P990, M600i and W950. The P1 supports a wide range of push email solutions and Web browsing applications, plus connectivity via hi-speed UMTS and WLAN. The P1 is also a slimline model, being just 17mm thick and 124 grams in weight.
The P1 succeeds in delivering all the features of a business smartphone in a standard phone size:
Dual function keyboard - full alpha-numeric (e.g. QWERTY) text input combined with one hand phone usability
Choice of text input method including handwriting and word completion
Push email enabled including support for Exchange ActiveSyncTM and BlackBerry® ConnectTM
Integrated WLAN and VoIP enabled
3.2 megapixel camera with business card scanner
Large 2.6 touchscreen with a Transflective Display that is easier to view in bright light conditions
