BMW Drivers Find the Open Road More Easily

WHY does a BMW driver need a map update?
For BMW drivers who purchased their vehicle more than a year ago, the map that powers the navigation system is likely out of date. The road network is constantly changing. A map update includes thousands of new roads, subdivisions, and addresses as well as Points of Interest, such as new restaurants, ATM locations, and gas stations, with a change rate estimated to be nearly 20 percent.

BMW drivers of 3, 5, 6, and 7 Series, M3, M5, M6, X3, X5, Z4, and Z8 are encouraged to keep their navigation systems current for optimum performance with a map update.

WHAT does 2007 map updates contain?
2007 DVD map updates contain new and expanded road network coverage across the continental United States and Canada as well as Alaska and Hawaii. Map updates contain over 6.13 million miles of road and features more than 6.9 million updated points of interest including:

  • 396 BMW dealers for service and repairs,
  • over 468,000 restaurants,
  • over 69,900 hotels,
  • over 101,100 banks,
  • over 117,800 ATMs,
  • over 102,600 gas stations,
  • over 16,900 tourist attractions
