Consilient® Listed as Finalist for Top International "Mobile Innovation" Award from GSM Association
ST. JOHN'S, Nov. 1 - Consilient was named a finalist for the
prestigious Asia Mobile Innovation Awards. The awards will take place in
Macau, Asia on November 12, 2007, as part of the GSM's Mobile Asia Congress.
GSM is the global association for mobile operators. Consilient is competing
against one other finalist in the "Most Innovative Consumer Application"
category.
The Asia Mobile Innovation Awards recognize the most promising companies
in four categories by a panel of judges from investment firms and mobile
operators. Award winners will be determined at the Mobile Innovation Summit on
November 12 following a live presentation before the judges. For more
information, go to www.mobileinnovation.org.
Consilient submitted their Push(TM) messaging application which is
re-branded as MobileM@il by their customer, SingTel - in Singapore.
Singaporeans were the first to receive a completely free mobile email service
from SingTel (no data charges, no subscription fees) when the new service
launched in June 2007. Consilient's mobile messaging software for operators
has a unique, built-in advertising capability called Push adSpotz(TM) which
enables advertisers to fully sponsor the mobile email service through
advertising. In exchange for completely free mobile email, customers receive
targeted and interactive ads that enhance, rather than hinder a user's email
experience. Advertisers for SingTel's service include, KFC, Pizza Hut,
GlaxoSmith Kline and Sony Ericsson.
"Southeast Asia is leading the adoption of disruptive technologies like
advertising-funded mobile messaging," said Trevor Adey, Consilient CEO.
"Consilient is delighted that our technology has been chosen as a finalist. We
plan to partner with more mobile operators and advertisers to bring free
mobile applications and data to the 2.5 billion mobile phone users in the
world and in turn, enable brand advertisers to reach their target markets
through mobile phones," Adey added.
"We are thrilled with the quality of innovations submitted to the Asia
Mobile Innovation Awards," said Bill Gajda, Chief Commercial Officer of the
GSMA. "The eight finalists, which hail from seven different countries, are
truly 'best of breed'. The Mobile Innovation Program aspires to create a
global environment for getting business done, by discovering and showcasing
exceptional products and companies to top executives from operators, VCs and
equipment vendors," added Bill Gajda, CCO & CMO, GSMA.
