Artificial Life, Inc. Announces SMS GALAXY Version 2.0; Galaxy Puts Your Face on Live TV
HONG KONG, Oct. 11, 2007 -- Hong Kong-based Artificial Life, Inc. (OTCBB:ALIF), a provider of award-winning mobile 3G technology and applications, announced today the upcoming release of a new and strongly enhanced version of its interactive mobile to TV interface technology, SMS Galaxy.
"The new features of our SMS Galaxy are very advanced and allow for completely new interactive live TV show formats. Viewers can now send their own pictures and personal avatars to live TV shows by simply sending an SMS or MMS message with their mobile phone. The viewers can then see their own faces as the heads of avatars on live TV. Viewers can also interact with the TV show and the avatars of others even in real time by using their mobile phones. In this way the SMS galaxy allows the mobile phone to be used like a remote control of a console game in which all participating viewers can see each other on screen. This brings interactive TV to new levels. We are very excited about these new features and are already preparing special interactive TV show formats for European and Asian TV stations. With these new features we again confirm and demonstrate our leading role as the pioneers in the space of interactive TV and advanced mobile applications," said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.
SMS Galaxy 2.0 extends the usage of the Galaxy 1.0 technology from pure broadcast television usage to allow also online and mobile streaming formats. In addition, the system now includes a photo upload and processing module that allows mapping images of real faces onto 3D virtual characters. The facial mapping module allows TV viewers to participate not only by means of a customized avatar on-screen, but with their own likeness (picture) provided by a personal photo mapped onto the face of on-screen 3D avatar characters. The third major new feature allows real-time control of on-screen avatars and objects in live TV shows via touch-tone dialing from a mobile phone. The use of an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) gateway provides the ability to control movement and actions of avatars visible in the live TV broadcast, by simply pressing the number keys on a mobile phone.

SMS Galaxy 2.0 allows unique new forms of participation of the TV audience and a greater sense of community through interaction with others on live TV. Television studios, IPTV providers, and format creators have the flexibility of creating more innovative show formats and can now also leverage multiple distribution platforms simultaneously.
The Version 2.0 of SMS Galaxy will be released in the fourth quarter 2007. Several interactive TV game show formats are currently in production.
