Terocelo Announces the Launch of its University Research and Development Program
Terocelo Inc., a leader in software defined radio solutions, today announced the launching of its University Research and Development Program. The goals of this program are to promote Terocelo's technology road map and further development of True Software Radio(R) applications. The program focuses on accelerating the research and development of technologies of strategic importance for True Software Radio(R) solutions.
While collaborating with long-term research in universities worldwide, the company believes that the promotion and adoption of its technologies will be accelerated.
This summer, Terocelo started working with the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China's premier engineering university. Beijing Institute of Technology is developing wireless applications for a Home Gateway Solution. The understanding provides for BIT's Gateway Solutions to utilize Terocelo's Lycon(TM) transceiver chipset and True Software Radio(TM) technology.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Terocelo. Utilizing one radio technology to provide several communications interfaces is a significant technological advancement. Additionally, software upgradeability provides valuable product flexibility," said Dr. Cao Yuanda, Chief Professor, School of Software, Beijing Institute of Technology.
Additionally, this month the Centre for Microphotonic Systems (COMPS) in Perth, Australia chose to work with True Software Radio(R) chips for designing a Phased Array Receiver. Terocelo will provide COMPS with the next generation Lycon(TM) chip that is anticipated for Spring 2008. The company plans to release its 65nm CMOS chip, which is expected to run five protocols, multiband from 80 MHz to 3.7 GHz, codenamed Saura.
"We believe that supporting worldwide research and development at leading universities will lead to increased knowledge of our True Software Radio(R) technology. This type of collaboration helps to build and strengthen ties between Terocelo and university researchers, leading to mutually beneficial information exchange. This in turn will help accelerate the development of True Software Radio(R) for commercial production," said Antonio Turgeon Chairman and CEO of Terocelo Inc.
About Terocelo Inc.
TechnoConcepts Inc. (OTCBB:TCPS)(Frankfurt: UYE.F) does business as Terocelo Inc. Terocelo is in the business of designing, developing, licensing and marketing technology focused in the communications marketplace. Terocelo is positioned in the high-growth, wireless communication market, having developed breakthrough, disruptive technologies. These technologies can be integrated into many high-volume commercial markets, including cell phone, automotive, base station, Femto/Pico Cell, and First Responder markets.
The company has developed and patented True Software Radio(R), a proprietary technology that creates convergence for the wireless industry. True Software Radio(R) has produced the Lycon(TM) family of wireless transmitter-receiver chipsets, designed to enable cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and infrastructure with different radio frequencies, standards, and protocols to adjust by software command so that they can communicate across otherwise incompatible networks, without the need for multiple radios. Lycon(TM) chipsets replace the front end, I/F processing, ADC, and digital filtering sections of radios. Because the technology simplifies design and reduces component costs, the company believes that Lycon(TM) and True Software Radio(R) are ideal platforms for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to develop new wireless broadband, mobile data, cellular, and other next-generation wireless applications.
