WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

KORE Announces M2M Industry's First Single-rate Wireless Service

Reston, VA & Toronto - KORE Telematics, the world's largest digital wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced the industry's first suite of standards-based 1xRTT and EV-DO CDMA data services to be delivered under a single-tariff model across all of North America. For the first time, application service providers (ASPs) and their customers can take advantage of a single rate, with no roaming charges, across the entirety of the U.S., Canada and Mexico. KORE made the service available to customers on the continent's most reliable CDMA network on August 1.

"With this service, KORE brings a new level of predictability and cost effectiveness to the most comprehensive and flexible M2M network in the industry," said Alex Brisbourne, president and COO, KORE Telematics. "Our customers require predictable costs that will not vary widely when a device goes into an area that traditionally carried a roaming premium. We worked closely with our Tier 1 CDMA network partner to bring single-tariff CDMA M2M data services to all of North America. We are confident that this service provides developers with the fastest and most cost efficient route to market for their applications, and gives users the most robust wireless network on which to depend for their business."

The CDMA offering from KORE adds to its comprehensive suite of network, performance and billing management capabilities, which are already considered the most fully featured in the industry. The activation process is 100 percent automated, performed remotely in near real-time through the innovative KORE PRISM management platform-as opposed to a manual process, which requires devices to be shipped and reprogrammed, or activated one at a time, before they can be deployed.

Further, the customer-centric KORE "one-rate" service approach brings the option of using either static or dynamic IP address assignments throughout the coverage area, as best fits the application. This is coupled with the ability to locate devices in places that may previously have been roaming areas, significantly reducing both the cost and effort to develop and deliver solutions, ensuring fastest time-to-market for ASPs, and fastest time-to-savings for customers, benefiting both in today's competitive economy.

American Trash Management (ATM) is among those companies that have already benefited from the KORE CDMA offering. "With KORE, we were able to activate CDMA devices and, more importantly, prepare them for over-the-air provisioning within minutes," said Scott Brown, president of American Trash Management. "KORE also helped us migrate our 'Simple IP' and 'Mobile IP' devices from another operator's service. This combination of overall efficiency and reduced activation costs has a major positive impact on ATM's total cost of ownership - and makes us more competitive and responsive to our customers."

CDMA data services from KORE are tuned for a wide range of applications and market segments, from those that have per month transmission rates of less than 1MB to multiple Megabytes and beyond. Moreover, the company's "Pooled Plan" billing option yields predictable rates for applications where devices vary in monthly usage. In addition, KORE provides the industry's most powerful and secure suite of control mechanisms for managing remote devices, including airtime threshold monitoring to reduce risk and eliminate unexpected costs, and fully seamless mobile IP device roaming throughout the coverage area, which is done without any premium charges due to the "one rate" service offering.
