Albuquerque NM Utility Prepares For ArcGIS Server Web and Blackberry Development
Dayton, OH - February 26, 2008 - Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority is using ESRI ArcGIS Server for their enterprise mapping and GIS solution. For developing Web and mobile applications with ArcGIS Server the Water Utility Authority will be using Freeance Web and Freeance Mobile.
The Water Utility Authority was looking for a rapid development platform that would allow them to quickly create both Web GIS applications and Blackberry mobile GIS applications. Freeance Web Release 5 will allow the water utility to create multiple custom Web applications in a plug-and-play environment that will access not only ArcGIS Server but also non GIS databases such as service and customer records. Freeance Mobile uses the same plug-and-play application building tools to push live ArcGIS Server maps and enterprise database records to field personnel using standard Blackberry devices.
The Water Utility Authority will use Freeance Web to create Web based GIS applications that allow end-users to report on enterprise databases, create PDF scaled map printouts and a list of other functions such as redlining, and an easy-to-use interface.
Freeance Mobile will allow Water Utility Authority field personnel to have live GIS maps on their Blackberrys. Freeance Mobile will also allow GPS asset mapping, database record editing and even live device tracking for on-demand AVL functionality.
