Monitise Americas Builds on Financial Institution Adoption


Providence, RI - February 26, 2008 -- Monitise Americas, LLC, a leading mobile banking and payments service provider, today announced the appointment of Jeff McLaughlin as Executive Vice President of Mobile Strategy. In his role, McLaughlin will focus on driving adoption among wireless subscribers working with carriers and handset manufacturers to accelerate mobile banking use in US, Canada and Mexico.

McLaughlin has over 13 years of experience in the wireless industry, spanning various roles with carriers, vendors, systems integrators and content providers. Prior to joining Monitise Americas, McLaughlin held management positions at mFoundry, McCaw Cellular/AT&T Wireless, BCGI, GetConnected and Refresh Mobile. He is also the author of Consumer's Guide to Cell Phones & Wireless Service and a two-time Olympic medalist and World Champion in the sport of rowing.

Monitise Americas launched in the fall of 2007 and has already signed agreements with 20 financial institutions, giving their customers and members access to Mobile Financial Services. This includes the ability to check account balances, view recent transactions, transfer funds and receive text message alerts. Future product delivery includes bill payments functions and actionable alerts.

Monitise Americas' simplifies the mobile banking model by creating a resource and risk free model that enables financial institutions of all sizes to offer Mobile Financial Services. This simple to use, secure, trusted mobile application, provides consumers access through a single interface regardless of their cellular network or handset.
