Sling to Make TV Software for BlackBerry


FOSTER CITY, Calif. - Sling Media Inc. says it will release software later this year allowing consumers to watch television on broadband-enabled Research In Motion Ltd. BlackBerry smart phones.

The BlackBerry version of Slingbox Mobile connects with Sling Media's Slingbox units, which enable consumers to remotely view their televisions over the Internet. SlingPlayer Mobile already is available for phones running the Windows Mobile, Palm (nasdaq: PALM - news - people ) OS and Symbian operating systems.

SlingPlayer Mobile sells for $29.99, and comes with a free 30-day trial.
