NAVTEQ Provides Map Network Maps and Event Guide for Super Bowl XLII
Chicago, IL - January 31, 2008 - NAVTEQ Corporation (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, announced today that its Map Network maps and solutions have been selected to enable the official maps and an event guide for Super Bowl XLII. NAVTEQ has developed a suite of customized printed, web- based and mobile event tools that help visitors plan and make the most of the big game.
The Super Bowl maps and event guide offer rich content and Point of Interest information in and around the stadium, as well as for the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. Ticket holders and fans can use these tools to determine what routes to take, where to stay, where to eat, and the time and location of Super Bowl related activities. The online map provides point-to-point driving directions as well. New this year is the first ever interactive mobile guide: http://map.mapnetwork.com/galeon/sb/img wherein fans can download information from the maps or the event guide to their mobile devices.
The Official Event Guide is distributed to Super Bowl ticket holders prior to the event, and the Event Guide and Official Map are available at major Phoenix area hotels, airports and onsite at official Super Bowl XLII events. A version of the Official Map will be distributed in every USA Today newspaper in the State of Arizona Friday February 1.
The Super Bowl site maps also represent a unique and versatile advertising and sponsorship medium. Advertisers interested in reaching Super Bowl ticket holders chose from a variety of sponsorship packages to bring their brand message to visitors at key points in their decision-making process, both while planning their visit and onsite at the event.
