Wi-LAN Signs Multiple V-chip and Wi-Fi Licenses
Ottawa, Canada - Wi-LAN Inc. ("Wi-LAN" or the "Company") (TSX:WIN), a leading technology innovation and licensing company, today announced that it has signed three license agreements for its V-chip technology. The Company has signed license agreements for its U.S. V-chip Patent with Maxmedia Corporation (Maxmedia), Zentech Manufacturing Inc. (Zentech) and Ultima Electronics Corporation (Ultima). These agreements provide for the payment of running royalties for the life of the patent.
In addition, Wi-LAN announced that four companies have entered into license agreements relating to its Wi-Fi patents since February 1, 2008. The agreements stipulate that all terms, including the identity of the licensees, cannot be disclosed in this announcement.
