UpCode Appoints Jerald Cavitt as CEO Of UpCode USA
UpCode Ltd. today announced the appointment of Jerald Cavitt as CEO of UpCode USA and marketing leader for the UpCode brand worldwide. This news has been in the works for several months and comes as an official announcement on the heels of UpCode’s award winning acceptance as mobile application of the year at the Nokia Mobile Rules! 2008 awards. Jerald is a highly recognized leader in the Physical World Hyperlink (PWH) arena. His brand, XxScan and XxCodes have been acknowledged as the leading 2D barcode end to end solution.
Along with the announcement of the newly placed CEO, UpCode was announced the winner of the best mobile application category at the exclusive Mobile Rules! 08 Awards Ceremony, where leaders in emerging mobile applications, technologies and business models were recognized for creating new value, new revenue and exciting services and applications for mobile workforces and the mobile lifestyle.
Jerald stated “I am honored and pleased to join the UpCode Brand and to team up with Sture Udd from UpCode Ltd; together we believe that this will be the ultimate game changer in the Mobile Access & Interaction world!” Cavitt added “I have always believed in convergence enabled by physical interaction with the digital world. Accepting this award from Forum Nokia is real world validation for UpCode that we’re on the right track; and we are looking forward to deploying more solutions now.”
Award winners were judged on the basis of uniqueness, design, ease-of-use and overall end-user experience and their ability to utilize the unique enablers of Nokia mobile device platforms, and were chosen from three competition tracks in the areas of mobile Business Plans, Technology Innovations and Applications. Accepting the award on behalf of UpCode were Camilla Sellberg, Customer Relations UpCode, Finland, Jerald Cavitt, CEO of UpCode USA and Glenn Prampin, Chief Operating Officer, UpCode USA.
Selected by a jury comprised of representatives from Nokia and sponsors, award winners were chosen from among a group of finalists in each of the mobile applications categories.
