CalAmp Awarded Contract to Provide Mobile Data Communications Network for the City of Denver

Oxnard, CA - March 25, 2008 - CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP), a leading provider of wireless products, services, and solutions, today announced that its Dataradio operating unit has been awarded a contract with the City and County of Denver, Colorado to construct a mobile data network to be used by Denver's law enforcement personnel. The contract is initially valued at approximately $2.3 million. Work on the project is expected to begin immediately with system acceptance scheduled for the latter part of calendar 2008.

The new Dataradio G3 Agile Dual Band (ADB) 800/700MHz IP platform will operate at data rates up to 32 and 64 Kbps, and is capable of being upgraded to support higher speeds. The system allows dispatchers to securely and accurately relay information to field personnel and allows law enforcement personnel to access information from remote databases without the need for back-office support. The system will initially support approximately 500 mobile units, and will have the capability to be expanded in the future.

"Dataradio is committed to providing mobile data solutions with guaranteed coverage at high data rates for public safety applications requiring mission-critical reliability," commented Michael Burdiek, President of CalAmp's Wireless DataCom Division. "Dataradio understands the commitment that law enforcement personnel make to ensure the public's safety. We are dedicated to providing equipment to make this possible while significantly improving the efficiency of the men and women in uniform."

Molly Rauzi, Chief Information Officer for the City and County of Denver said, "This technology gives us the ability to do more with existing resources. This network will make it much easier for dispatchers and police officers in the field to perform everyday tasks, improve response times and enhance overall public safety services to citizens in the City and County of Denver."
