Introducing Wine Trails GPS (tm) Custom Databases For Exploring Wine Countries
Denver, CO - September 30, 2008 - Wine Country Network, Inc (WCN) a multi-platform media & event company that publishes the nationally distributed Wine Country International® (WCI) magazine, produces 'Travel, Wine and Cuisine' radio and several International wine festivals, has announced that it has been appointed exclusive worldwide sales & marketing agent for Wine Trails GPS (tm), custom POI software designed for enhancing touring in wine countries.
Global Positioning System (GPS) is a revolutionary tool, which provides unequalled accuracy and flexibility of positioning for navigation, surveying and geographic locations. If you have operated a GPS unit, you are aware of how convenient and invaluable these devices can be.
Many portable GPS devices are ready to go right out of the box with preloaded street maps and millions of points of interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs and more.
Wine Trails GPS is dedicated to providing comprehensive Wine Country POI databases that may be uploaded into popular GPS units. Wine and food lovers just upload these database files straight into their compatible units, and hit the road! The comprehensive regionalized databases will provide a detailed listing of wineries and restaurants in each wine region.
Updated software versions will include recommendations and ratings from the editors of Wine Country International® magazine. Wine Country International® will create a Winery Rating System, similar in concept to the Michelin Guide®.
Wine Trails GPS first release GPS database files for the Napa and Sonoma wine country regions, which are now available individually at $39.95 each or as a bundle package that includes more than 600 wineries with a bonus restaurant database at $69.95.
The developers plan to release POI's for all states during the coming months. In early 2009, Wine Country Network plans to begin releasing International versions of Wine Trails GPS.
