Volantis Extends BuzzCast Solution to iPhone and Android
Guildford, UK - October 22, 2008 - Volantis, the world’s leading supplier of Intelligent Content Adaptation™ solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the availability of BuzzCast™ client for Apple® iPhone®, providing mobile operators with a way to brand their own content reader to quickly generate incremental data revenues. A similar client for Google® Android™ devices will be available soon.
Buzzcast is a next-generation platform for integrating multiple content feeds, personalizing those feeds into custom channels, dynamically inserting advertisements and delivering content to multiple on-device clients.
The BuzzCast client for iPhone is the first Volantis-built on-device application for mobile devices. It enables subscribers with iPhones to access a range of syndicated content that they can search for and choose in a natural way by taking advantage of the touch-based user interface.
With the BuzzCast client for iPhone, subscribers can:
• Bookmark favorite feeds;
• See at a glance how many unread items have been downloaded;
• Read an item summary immediately without waiting for any download to take place; and
• Read the full web page linked by an item, using a Safari™ window embedded within the client. This means that the user does not have to switch between applications.
The BuzzCast iPhone client can be fully re-branded for each operator and published independently via the iTunes® App Store, simplifying on-device provisioning and quickly enabling subscribers to use the service.

The BuzzCast client for Android will provide equivalent functionality for any device based on the Google Android Platform.
