NearbyNow, 1020 Placecast, Loopt and Sojern Demonstrate How Brands Can Use Location-Based Ads
1020 Placecast, the first online advertising solution to target highly sought-after audiences using location-based information across the Web, mobile, Wi-Fi networks and email, will be joining panelists from Loopt, NearbyNow and Sojern on the first location-based advertising panel at ad:tech San Francisco – “Case Studies in Location-Based Advertising: Innovative Business Models That are Paying Off Today”.
The session, moderated by Josh Goldman, general partner at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), will feature insights from Sam Altman, CEO of Loopt; Scott Dunlap, CEO of NearbyNow; Gordon Whitten, CEO of Sojern; and Alistair Goodman, CEO of 1020 Placecast, on the current reality of location-based advertising. Panelists are expected to discuss the new types of powerful, targeted advertising that are being delivered through location.
“We have been touting the necessity and demonstrating the value of location-based advertising for some time now,” said Alistair Goodman, CEO of 1020 Placecast. “We’re very excited that the medium is being recognized by ad:tech and look forward to contributing to this panel.”
Each of these startups is applying the concept of 1:1 advertising in unexpected ways – to local consumers, based on location information supplied by the user or service – and, as early leaders in the space, they will share both their successes and their challenges.
“Location has been a much-hyped subject matter in digital marketing over the last few months,” said Mr. Goodman. “We look forward to using this panel as a way to explain the opportunities and the challenges from those who have understood and utilized location’s potential from the beginning.”
The panel will take place on Tuesday, April 21st, at 3 pm in Moscone Center West in San Francisco.
