3G Americas and CASETEL Sign Cooperation Agreement


Bellevue, WA - 3G Americas, a wireless industry trade association representing the GSM family of technologies including LTE, and The Cámara de Empresas de Servicios de Telecomunicaciones (CASETEL), a private, non-profit institution for telecommunications services companies in Venezuela, have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual cooperation regarding wireless communications activities in Venezuela.

The cooperative relationship between 3G Americas and CASETEL entails the sharing of technical information, regulatory viewpoints and spectrum policies, as well as the use of wireless technology to support social and economic development. Both organizations have agreed to participate in related wireless events as well as other projects to progress the mobile broadband evolution in Venezuela.

President of CASETEL, Carlos Sanoja, commented, “We look forward to working with 3G Americas in regard to the key opportunities and regulatory policies for the wireless telecommunications sector in Venezuela.”

“3G Americas supports appropriate transparent and consistent wireless policies throughout Latin America for the deployment of mobile broadband services in the region,” stated Erasmo Rojas, Director of Latin America and the Caribbean for 3G Americas. “With this important cooperation agreement with CASETEL, we will strive to continue pro-active advocacy of wireless policy that will serve society throughout the region and meet the growing demands of wireless users in Venezuela.”
