mBlox Celebrates Ten Years of Innovation and Development In Messaging

Since its founding in 1999, mBlox has grown internationally to become the world’s largest mobile transaction network. In just ten years, mBlox has grown to enable companies to communicate with mobile subscribers of more than 600 carriers in 180 countries.  Some significant milestones in the history of the company include:

  • 2001: successfully delivered over 40 million messages
  • 2003: successfully delivered 300 million messages
  • 2005: Successfully delivered over 1 billion application-to-person transactions and expanded PSMS coverage into Germany, Ireland and Australia

  • 2008: mBlox cleared and settled for its customers, premium transactions with a retail value of approximately $500m
  • 2009: mBlox surpasses 260 telecommunication professionals employed in 9 offices worldwide
  • 2009: mBlox experienced mobile messaging growth of 63 percent in Europe and 120 percent in North America in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period of last year
Innovation and industry recognition
  • 2002: mBlox commissions industry’s first carrier-grade short message center
  • 2004: mBlox first to launch complete end-to-end wireless coverage to deliver Premium SMS in the US
  • 2005: MasterCard and mBlox launch first global mobile fraud detection solution
  • 2007: mBlox ranked number 12 in Deloitte’s US Wireless Fast 50
  • 2007: mBlox Ranked Number 6 in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Program for Silicon Valley Internet, Media & Entertainment and Communication Companies
  • 2008: mBlox launches global WAP billing platform
  • 2008: Myxer and mBlox win prestigious 2008 Meffys Award for Music Service
  • 2009: mBlox launches UK’s first Sender-Pays Data trial
  • 2009: Free to End User Messaging launched in the US
