Former Fox Mobile Entertainment President to Reveal Key Digital Content Trends
MORRISTOWN, NJ - October 7, 2009 - TM Forum, the world's premier industry group focused on business effectiveness for the communications and media sectors, today confirmed Lucy Hood, former president of Fox Mobile Entertainment, is to deliver an exclusive keynote presentation at TM Forum’s Management World Americas conference, taking place December 8-10, 2009 in Orlando, Florida.
In a keynote session titled “Digital Content: Who Has Got the Power?”, Ms. Hood will reveal startling research showing trends in consumer desires, usage, and purchase behavior for digital content. She will discuss how purchase behaviors and monetization potential will have a profound effect across the value-chain.
Nominated as “Visionary of the Year” for the Digital Entertainment & Media Excellence Awards, Lucy Hood received the first Emmy nomination for mobile content with the mobile video series “24: Conspiracy”. She led the team that invented the ‘mobisode’—a television episode designed for a mobile device and the first ad-sponsored video, and is the executive credited with bringing text messaging on American Idol. Hood is currently the executive director of the University of Southern California’s Institute for Communications Technology Management.
Ms. Hood joins a distinguished line-up for the 10th annual Management World Americas conference, alongside keynote speakers including Jonathan Marchbank, COO, Virgin Mobile USA; Fari Ebrahimi, CIO, Verizon; Neil Cox, executive vice president, Qwest; and Albert Hitchcock, CIO, Vodafone Group.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Lucy Hood to the keynote stage for Management World Americas,” said Nik Willetts, vice president of communications, TM Forum. “Mobile content is one of many new opportunities for communications service providers to capitalize on converging markets. That’s the major theme of the conference this year – how service providers can go beyond simply providing connectivity, to enabling and profiting from new business models.”
