Aepona’s Universal Service Platform 3.0 Selected for Rogers Catalyst

Aepona announced today that its Universal Service Platform 3.0 (USP) will run a new open API service just launched by Rogers Communications Inc., Canada’s largest provider of wireless voice and data communications services. The developer platform, Rogers Catalyst (http://rogerscatalyst.com/), provides application developers and enterprise solution providers with on-demand access to its network and billing resources, making it easy for those organizations to mobile-enable a wide variety of business solutions and SaaS services, and to differentiate and monetize consumer web and mobile applications.

Rogers Catalystis representative of the “Network as a Service” (NaaS) model that Aepona has been promoting, enabling a multi-sided business model and the ability for service providers to extend reach into new market segments through external providers of applications and services.  Providing easy-to-use Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) towards Rogers assets such as location-based services, messaging and carrier billing, Rogers Catalyst enables developers to create new applications or enrich existing apps with new mobile features, as well as providing a direct-to-bill monetization channel for their services.

“We are delighted to have been selected as the software engine for Rogers Catalyst”, said Richard McConnell, CTO of Aepona. “We are looking forward to working with Rogers Catalyst, further delivering on our product strategy of combining network resource exposure, partner relationship management and monetization in a single, commercial off-the-shelf software platform.”
