Lightning Pick Wireless Pick to Light Systems Prove Best

Lightning Pick Technologies (www.lightningpick.com), providers of paperless picking systems including the number one selling Pick to Light solution in North America recently released Lightning Pick NW Series Wireless Pick to Light System. The NW Series is the first completely mobile Pick to Light technology in the market, introducing an expanded range of applications that can benefit from light-directed order picking.

Wireless Pick to Light

Lightning Pick NW Series are Wireless Pick to Light modules, providing the benefits of light directed picking to a variety of applications beyond traditional shelf or rack-mounted devices. Lightning Pick announced the NW Series of Wireless Pick-to- Light modules allow the Pick-to-Light user to expand their applications to product locations without rack/shelving infrastructure or must be continuously mobile. Examples include pallet locations on open floors and product bins located on monorails or carts.

NW Series Wireless Lights' "White Paper" technology displays information without a continuous power supply, providing a truly mobile and 'green' Pick-to-Light system.   Modules operate for 160 hrs between recharges.

Employs a proprietary radio technology that requires less energy than Wi-Fi networks.   The wireless modules take advantage of several recent technological advances allowing them to remain active for long periods between recharges. The most important of these is the use of "White Paper" or electronic paper display technology, also used in eBook readers like the Amazon Kindle. The white paper lights retain information displays without the need to draw power. The system runs on a low power radio technology which uses a fraction of the energy required by traditional Wi-Fi networks.

The modules have a range of approximately 90 feet (30 meters).   Offered in 3-digit / character and 5-digit / character versions and features a large multi-color indicator light/ confirm button; configure the system through set-up utilities, which can be run on any Windows PC.   The systems can be combined with classic rack-mounted Lightning Pick systems       NW Series lights can present data in unique ways including numbers, text and even fully functional bar codes. High contrast white on black information is easy to read and clear from both long distances and a wide range of viewing angles.   Lightning Pick Wireless Pick-to-Light is an environmentally friendly technology, with a flexibility of applications and messaging options to optimize your unique requirements.

In 1998 Lightning Pick introduced duct-based Pick to Light technology to the United States. These cable-free light modules retrofit to a rack, shelf, cart or other material handling storage media. The new track-lighting style hardware lowered installation costs and is more flexible for system reconfiguration, maintenance, and expansion. Cable-free displays are the industry standard, but distributors still sought after a means of applying Pick to Light speed and accuracy to operations that did not have the infrastructure for mounted lights.

The LP Wireless Pick to Light System is ideal for any temporary or mobile product locations such as totes, bins, shipping containers, pallets on open floors and others. By placing the portable light module on or near the required product location it immediate is part of the Pick to Light operation. Bays and zones can leverage a combination of classic Lightning Pick track-mounted and wireless lights, all of which are easily configured within Lightning Pick software.
