Riverbed to Showcase Application Performance Solutions at Microsoft Tech Ed

San Francisco, CA - Riverbed Technology  (RVBD 27.98, +1.08, +4.02%) , the IT performance company, today announced its upcoming participation in the annual Microsoft Tech Ed North America 2010 Conference, taking place June 7-10 in New Orleans, LA. During the conference, Riverbed(R) will showcase how the company's award-winning WAN optimization solutions accelerate traffic for Microsoft applications and services. The company will also be among the featured speakers in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion Theatre, with a presentation on Riverbed's acceleration of Microsoft applications for branch offices and mobile workers.

Enterprise and government customers use Riverbed WAN optimization solutions to dramatically accelerate and optimize Microsoft applications such as SharePoint and Exchange over the WAN. To extend the benefits of the Riverbed Steelhead(R) appliances, the company offers organizations the ability to virtualize their branch office IT infrastructure with the Riverbed Services Platform (RSP), a partition within the Steelhead appliance that allows organizations to run up to five additional edge services. With RSP, customers have the ability to virtualize and run Microsoft services such as Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, media streaming and print services on one platform, resulting in a reduced IT hardware footprint, lower costs and easier management.

Riverbed has worked closely with Microsoft to enhance the experience of Riverbed customers running Microsoft applications and services. Most recently, Riverbed announced that the company is the first WAN optimization vendor to obtain validation for the Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP) for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. With the combination of Windows Server 2008 R2 infrastructure services and Steelhead appliances, mutual customers can simplify their branch office infrastructure while at the same time ensuring application performance for end users.
