DDS Wireless' Taxi Unit Signs $3.8 Million Contract to Upgrade European Customer
DDS Wireless International Inc. (CA:DD 1.58, 0.00, 0.00%) announces today that its Taxi business unit, Digital Dispatch Systems, has signed a contract with Taxi Stockholm featuring the sale of the Company's iMax 9000(TM) mobile data terminals (MDTs) to replace a previous generation DDS system. The contract has a value of $3.8 million.
Taxi Stockholm has been utilizing DDS' technologies to build its business for more than 10 years. One of the largest taxi operators in Sweden, Taxi Stockholm belongs to an elite group of large European taxi companies that rely on the DDS' fleet management technologies. This group of customers includes Taxi G7 of Paris, Helsinki Taxi, SKT taxi group of Copenhagen and Taxi Dusseldorf.

"Use of industry-leading technology like the iMax9000(TM) improves the efficiency of taxi fleet management, navigation, and onboard electronic payments. With many of our customers and prospective customers reaching the end of their technology lifecycles, we are very excited about the market prospects of our latest generation technologies such as the iMax9000(TM)."
The latest generation iMax9000(TM) will provide Taxi Stockholm with advanced features and functionality such as 3D mapping, turn-by-turn navigation, leading edge graphics and touch screen technology. In addition, the greater processing power, expanded memory, and 3G wireless capabilities offered by the iMax9000(TM) will enable Taxi Stockholm to further extend their system capabilities in the future.
The contract provides for the continuation of various support and maintenance agreements to cover the newly purchased MDTs and related equipment and software. The contract also provides for completion in several phases; the first phase calls for the development of a functional specification which, once completed and accepted, will be followed by several deployment phases. The Company expects to deliver the first phase requirements early in the third quarter of 2010.
