Pub Groups to Drive Footfall with Sendster SMS Service
London - Two major pub groups have signed up for Sendster’s newly launched Enterprise SMS service, which is designed to enable retail and hospitality groups to drive footfall locally by running targetted SMS marketing campaigns on behalf of their local outlets.
Tipple Taverns and Bravo Inns will both adopt the new service, which enables large groups to run SMS marketing campaigns for all of their branches centrally, alerting local customers about last-minute offers, in-store events and other marketing opportunities at the branch level.
Sendster’s Enterprise SMS service is blissfully simple:
-
For retail and hospitality groups, Sendster allows branch staff to focus on running their stores whilst the marketing team at HQ create and run campaigns to drive footfall on their behalf. Branches simply need to encourage customers to sign up.
-
For customers, they simply sign up to receive offers from their local branch via the group’s website, by sending a text to a short-code text number (80408), or signing up at the branch. Sendster then allows customers to specify their interests and preferences, so groups can target offers and events at those most likely to respond. This means customers only receive offers they are interested in and retail groups can achieve high response rates.
-
Central groups don’t need to install equipment or download software, as the service is hosted by Sendster and accessed via the internet. In addition, Sendster is intuitive and simple to use, so no training is required.
“Sendster lets groups harness their existing web presence and their branch networks to capture customer data, which then can be used to drive footfall at the local level using targetted marketing campaigns, which are managed centrally” explains Carlo Platia, CEO and founder of Sendster. “Smart businesses are waking up to the fact that they must build their own audiences to remain competitive, rather than paying large fees to rent audiences from TV stations, magazines, newspapers and websites. For group operations, Sendster is the most cost effective way to do this”
“This gives us a very simple way to leverage our pubs and our website to collect our customers’ contact details and find out their interests,” explains Tim Dunlop, Operations Director at Tipple Taverns. “Then we can use that data to entice customers back more often with offers and events that match their interests. Sendster enables us to manage this centrally on behalf of our pub staff, leaving them free to focus on providing great service. Also, we can use Sendster to tell customers about special deals or events at our other nearby venues, thereby increasing the amount they spend within the group. “ Adds Tim, “Sendster was the only service that met our requirements without breaking our budget.”
Mark Dean, Operations Director at Bravo Inns, agrees. “We believe in letting our management team and staff concentrate on providing a great atmosphere and service. Sendster enables me to build a valuable database of customers who want to hear from their local pubs and we can use this to tempt those customers back into our venues again and again. Each pub runs different events so it’s important to send different messages to people, depending on which pub is their local, and Sendster lets us do that all centrally via the internet.” Mark concludes, “Sendster makes it easy for us to build a loyal audience of local customers, which will give our pubs an advantage over other local venues”.
Sendster’s Enterprise service is available now at www.sendster.co.uk. It is free to sign up and businesses can upgrade to the enterprise version simply by adding branches at £20 per branch per month in addition to the cost of text credits.
The Sendster text-based marketing service is powered by mBlox’s global mobile transaction platform, designed exclusively to manage mobile messages and data reliably between all mobile operators at the fastest possible speeds. mBlox ensures that Sendster’s text marketing messages are delivered in a rapid and secure fashion.
About Sendster
Sendster is the only service designed specifically for retail and hospitality businesses who want to instantly contact their local customers with targeted messages and offers using SMS text messaging. Sendster understands that the best returns on marketing are achieved by companies that build their own audiences rather than paying large fees to rent audiences from TV stations, newspapers, magazines and websites, which often promise high reach but generally offer low rates of response. While traditional marketing methods undoubtedly have their place, Sendster believes there is a better, more targeted and cost effective way for businesses to communicate with existing customers and acquire new ones quickly and cheaply by building their own audiences, understanding their interests and reaching out to entice them in.
