Globalstar Focused on Second-Generation Constellation Launch
Globalstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:GSAT), a leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services to businesses, government, and consumers, today announced that the Company will showcase its latest satellite technology and innovations at SATELLITE 2010 and MSUA-7 Conference which is taking place March 16-18, 2010 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
At the conference, Globalstar executives will discuss the launch of the Globalstar second-generation satellite constellation. The first launch of six satellites is expected in late summer with the 90-day launch window scheduled to open on July 5, 2010. The new state-of-the-art satellite constellation is expected to create a multi-year market advantage over competing satellite service providers by providing Globalstar customers with enhanced next-generation Internet-protocol multi-media (IMS) and legacy mobile satellite services through at least the year 2025.
As a trade-show exhibitor Globalstar will highlight its expanded award-winning SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger product family, including the new DeLorme Earthmate® PN-60w with SPOT Satellite Communicator at Globalstar booth #1731.
Following its acquisition of GPS M2M asset-tracking developer Axonn, the Company is also inviting discussions with M2M product developers interested in integrating Globalstar's open-source global-tracking and satellite messaging standard into their new products.
