NeuLion Expands Mobile Initiative
Plainview, NY - Leading IPTV service provider NeuLion today announced the growth of its mobile platform service and advanced integration with handheld devices.
The technology leader is adding to its repertoire a series of wireless applications amplifying the user experience through live audio and video on mobile. The streaming component complements the other viewing avenues NeuLion provides: on television through set top box, the PC and other IP enabled devices. Additionally, this multimedia element broadens the value of its Partners' websites to mobile users.
"With NeuLion's platform, we can take video one time and stream to many different consumer devices. Our mobile solution brings the exact same PC viewing experience to mobile. The look is sleek and seamless. All the features and functionality are the same. Our platform is able to synchronize all the video that is distributed to both the PC and mobile consumer," said Chris Wagner, Executive Vice President of NeuLion.
Users can watch live streaming video while toggling between home and away audio feeds as well as share with friends on Facebook and Twitter. Fans can choose from full game highlights, condensed games, or scroll to view individual video highlight clips. Additional features include: Field Tracker, featuring a visual representation of important events, sort by specific stats, preferred team, or player stats and personalized features based on user-defined settings.
NeuLion Partner, the National Hockey League launched on mobile with the official NHL app NHL Ice Time(TM) 2010 for iPhone(TM), iPod Touch(R), iPad(R) and BlackBerry(R). With an emphasis on ease of use and access to premium content, NeuLion offers the NHL and its other Partners a digital platform to drive audience growth, activation and new business.
"The richness of the mobile application and depth of capabilities sets us apart," said NeuLion's Wagner. "We remain dedicated to being a thought leader on all technology applications and most importantly on mobile as the world becomes increasingly focused on handheld devices."
The University of Oregon, a NeuLion Collegiate Partner, launched an iPhone(TM) application in August 2009 for its athletic department, delivering news, scores and schedules from the official athletic site to mobile, in real-time.
"The key behind the iPhone project was delivering an application that fit our growing audience. Upon its debut it quickly became something our fans love, something that sticks," said Ryan Therrell, Director of Web Communications and Operations for the Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. "We are getting set to expand our mobile offering with NeuLion to include video and audio for next season."
