Communology Announces Social Network App for Windows Phone

Cologne, Germany - Communology, a company specializing in mobile application development, today announced the availability of LiveMedia Mobile Mash-Up for Windows Phone 7, the company’s first solution for Microsoft’s new smartphone OS. Like all LiveMedia solutions, it streamlines the process of developing clients with innovative features and great user interfaces.  Thanks to the new LiveMedia Mobile Mash-Up solution and the app developers at Communology, VZnet Netzwerke Ltd. was able to offer the first fully featured German social networking app for Windows Phone 7 devices. VZnet (Berlin) operates the popular networks www.schuelervz.net, www.studivz.net and www.meinvz.net, with 17.4 million users altogether. The community client shows the advantage of Communology’s app development platform approach, which not only reduces time to market and development costs. It also increases the software quality and enables companies to offer apps for new OS from the very beginning.

”Communology has provided us with a feature-rich, user-friendly high-performance app for Windows Phone 7 and has proven to be a reliable partner in mobile software development“, said Dr. Clemens Riedl, CEO VZnet Netzwerke.

“We think Windows Phone 7 has a great market potential and are pleased to present our first solution for Microsoft’s new smartphone OS. Mobile social networking requires very demanding features that need sophisticated development skills and knowledge about the integration of device components such as the camera or GPS. With our new LiveMedia Mobile Mash-Up version, Communology provides a pre-packaged solution that enables social network operators to offer apps for Windows Phone 7 quickly”, said Thomas Kaehler, CEO of Communology.

LiveMedia Mash-Up

LiveMedia Mash-Up enables social networks to extend their services to mobile users without major technical effort. Besides core features such as pin board and status updates, Mobile Mash-Up adds features aimed specifically at users on the move, including location-based services. It also enables real-time communication services like telephony, SMS, MMS and mobile instant messaging, as well as rich-media features, including the direct posting of photos taken with the mobile phone’s camera. The solution additionally includes capabilities to support mobile marketing, such as customer data management, target group-aligned content and initiatives, and permission-based advertising. LiveMedia Mash-Up supports Java ME, Symbian, Nokia Qt, Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and Windows Phone 7 devices.

Proven white label model

Communology’s quality-tested, pre-configured LiveMedia clients are available as white label products that can easily be customized and ported to any mobile device. This significantly reduces the time to market. LiveMedia solutions are available for social networking, instant messaging, visual voicemail, unified communications, mobile TV, and mobile marketing. The white label model of developing mobile communication applications has proven itself repeatedly. Customers who have purchased LiveMedia clients include several major mobile communication industry players such as Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Deutsche Telekom, and Vodafone, media companies like Astra, and businesses using mobile advertising, including Daimler.
