DeviceAnywhere Introduces Automated Smartphone Testing Solution for the Enterprise

San Mateo, CA - DeviceAnywhere, the industry leader in end-to-end mobile application testing, will introduce Test Automation for Smartphones™ at CTIA. The enterprise product helps companies solve the challenges they face in reliably developing and supporting mobile ap-plications for their employees and customers.

Accurate automated testing is essential for enterprises supporting mobile applications, as software failures put enterprises at risk and affect their credibility to their customers and stakeholders.  With Test Automation for Smartphones, users can easily create simple or complex test scripts to test any mobile application, Web site, or content. They can flexibly create manual, partially automated, and fully automated tests, which can be run at the tester’s convenience. Results are automatically saved to a web-based reporting interface, accessible by colleagues in remote locations.

Test Automation for Smartphones integrates easily as an extra software layer with popular test automation tools or an existing test harness, using a Java API. The powerful image and text recognition engines (provided by ABBYY) are perfect for the UI-based testing required to validate mobile applications.

“By 2015, approximately 60% of the North American mobile professional workforce will rely on smartphones for business communications,” commented Dan Shey, Practice Director – Enterprise, ABI Research.  “In light of this reality, businesses need to have available a robust and proven application test process as part of their smartphone lifecycle management program to ensure maximum worker productivity and competitive advantage.”

CTIA conference attendees can learn more about the value of Test Automation for Smartphones as DeviceAnywhere demonstrates with partners HP and IBM at its booth (#315).

Test Automation for Smartphones is fully integrated with IBM’s Rational Quality Manager (RQM), HP’s Quality Center, and HP QuickTest Professional. Both user communities can access mobile application testing on every smartphone and tablet platform and model, while IBM executes tests and keeps track of results. The result is reusable mobile testing assets that relieve the pain of test-ing thousands of different smartphones manually. Customers are able to confirm the quality of their mobile applications with extreme confidence.

“As applications and smartphones become increasingly complex, the level of support needs to evolve to meet the needs of those end-users,” said Faraz A. Syed, CEO and co-founder. “We take great pride in offering our partners that extra layer of support to keep their enterprise as well as customer applications running at their best, effortlessly. “
