Out There Media Continues Course of Global Leadership in 2010


Out There Media, a global leader in mobile advertising, today presented a comprehensive account of its course of explosive growth over the past six months. In particular, the company announced that it is already experiencing a ten-fold increase in its advertising deals with leading brands in the second half of 2010, compared to the first. This comes mainly as a result of the impressive expansion of the company’s global marketplace, which now encompasses over 335 million subscribers worldwide (a 50% increase compared to end of Q2 2010), through partnership agreements with 23 operators across Europe and Asia. This number is expected to reach 500 million before the end of the year. The company has also continued its international expansion drive, opening new offices in Düsseldorf and Moscow in recent months, while it has further strengthened its presence across the high-growth Asian market. 

Out There Media, the pioneer of the operator-centric Mobile Advertising model, continues to attract the world’s leading mobile operators as partners globally. In the past quarter the company signed several high-profile new operator agreements, including a partnership with Russia’s top mobile operator, VimpelCom/Beeline. Within the framework of the deal, Out There Media enables VimpelCom to offer a comprehensive portfolio of Mobile Advertising services to its 51 million users in the Russian market. In addition, through key partnership agreements with mobile operators in Malaysia, including market leader Maxis, Out There Media now reaches over two thirds of Malaysia’s total population of mobile subscribers.

In the summer of 2010 Out There Media unveiled its next generation Permission-Based Mobile Advertising model. The proposition builds on opt-in subscribers’ profiles, interests and preferences, serving them relevant mobile advertisements in return for incentives, special offers, benefits or loyalty points. The model offers brands and media agencies a highly cost-effective, engaging, targeted, direct and measurable advertising medium. At the same time it creates a new, untapped revenue stream for operators, while giving them the opportunity to increase customer loyalty by offering new, high-value services.Already, Out There Media launched two such offerings, namely “Be the First to Know” with VimpelCom in Russia and “myDeals” with Maxis in Malaysia. They were both very enthusiastically welcomed in their respective markets, with impressive numbers of subscribers continuously opting in to participate, and with leading local and international brands, including BMW, Malaysia Airlines, Perfetti Van Melle, Colgate-Palmolive and Panasonic, coming on board as launch partners. Out There Media has more Permission-Based Mobile Advertising programs scheduled to be launched in Europe and Asia before the end of 2010. 

Out There Media is continuing to expand geographically across Europe, with further moves planned beyond the continent in the near future. In addition, the company’s human capital was recently strengthened by the arrival of several experienced executives. They include: René Bellack, Vice-President of Sales, responsible for Mobile Advertising Sales across the company’s global footprint; René is a senior executive with a long and successful career track in digital media, and with an impressive track record with companies including Vodafone MediaSolutions! and Razorfish. Marc Wrobel, Country Manager for Out There Media Germany, Austria and Switzerland; prior to joining Out There Media, Marc served at Vodafone MediaSolutions as Head of New Business & Partnerships, while other milestones in his career include senior executive roles at VIVA Television GmbH, and uboot.com. Stephanie Emmanouel, Country Manager for Out There Media Greece and South-East Europe, joined the company from Google Greece, where she served as Industry Manager, Multi-Sector; previous highlights in her career include senior positions at established companies in Britain, Germany and Japan, including TradeDoubler Group, Komdat and Alitalia.
