Wireless Diagnostic Skin Patch Patent Announced by GENTAG

GENTAG, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent issuance of US Patent 7,969,307, complementing its joint patent portfolio with Motorola, including US Patents 7,148,803; 7,492,254; and pending foreign PCT applications covering disposable wireless sensors compatible with cell phones, including Near Field Communication (NFC) cell phones.

Patent 7,969,307 covers disposable wireless skin patches directly readable with NFC cell phones, as well as other disposable NFC sensors for consumer applications, including medication, food safety, pathogen detection, cosmetics, and M2M markets.

With its combination of proprietary technologies and issued patents, GENTAG, Inc. is in a unique position to capitalize on the emerging global market of consumer-based cell phone sensor transactions, overlaying precise in-building geolocation (US Patent 6,031,454), NFC sensor transactions and web-based transactions.  "Our technologies will allow Groupon-type cell phone transactions for any consumer market or application," indicated Dr. John P. Peeters, the founder of GENTAG.   "We look forward to bringing this technology to consumers worldwide via our existing and future partners."

Patent 7,969,307 is assigned to Altivera, LLC, a GENTAG holding company.  Recent patent acquisitions in the area of wireless have averaged $750,000 per patent.
