Nextreaming Releases Smooth Streaming Player SDK for Android and iOS
Mobile World Congress Barcelona (Spain), Feb. 14th 2011 - Nextreaming, leading provider of multimedia software for handsets, announced the commercial availability of the latest NexPlayer™ SDK for Android and iOS, now supporting also adaptive streaming according to the Smooth Streaming standard. The Player SDK includes the latest features as defined by IIS, being compliant with the already available Smooth Streaming services.
The player is showing premium quality for video and music streaming services through Mobile Operator Networks and Wireless Internet thanks to the specific optimization of the codecs, protocols and rendering modules for the different Android/iOS versions and the specific device chipsets. In addition, NexPlayer™ SDK with Smooth Streaming inside has been combined with leading DRM solutions such as PlayReady.
This new upgrade of NexPlayer SDK complements the previous SDK capabilities such as HTTP Live Streaming, Download, Progressive Download and Local Playback. The latest 3GPP and Windows Media Codecs such as H.264 and WMV/WMA are also included.
The player is now ready for Service Providers, Broadcasters and Mobile Operators, who will distribute it for download in applications via the Android and iPhone/iPad Application Markets. The player functionality and user interface are fully customizable and can be also combined or integrated into any other existing application. Sample UI in source code is provided, enabling this way a very fast integration process and time-to-market by application makers.
