AT&T and MobileIron Win Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award
AT&T* and MobileIron (http://www.mobileiron.com/), the leader in enterprise management and security for mobile devices and apps, today announced that the MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform (VSP) from AT&T was awarded the 2011 Global Telecoms Business Innovation award for Business Services Innovation. The Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards honour innovative projects involving telecoms operators and service providers around the world, in association with their vendors and suppliers.
MobileIron VSP from AT&T provides over-the-air protection and control for smartphones being used within an organization, both company and employee-owned. It provides multiplatform visibility for integrated devices running on various mobile operating systems and across multiple wireless service providers. AT&T directly bills MobileIron's service per device per month to the customer. Adding it as a line item on the company’s monthly AT&T bill simplifies and speeds up installation and ongoing service.
“We are seeing an increasing trend in our enterprise customers seeking mobile application solutions to help reduce complexity and costs and innovate at a speed ‘never before seen in the industry’,” said Chris Hill, Vice President, Advanced Mobility Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “In fact, adoption of AT&T mobile applications in enterprises has doubled from 2,500 in the first quarter of 2010 to more than 5,000 in the first quarter of this year.”
"We are pleased to share this global recognition with AT&T,” said Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron. "This award recognizes our combined efforts to deliver the best mobile device management, security and app distribution platform to customers around the world.”
