WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

Appitalism App Concierge Automates Apps Delivery for Apple iOS Devices

Appitalism announces today the launch of its exclusive App Concierge feature on Appitalism.com which radically streamlines and simplifies the download process for iOS apps by eliminating the need to transfer to the iTunes App Store to complete each purchase.  Instead of the two-step process previously encountered on Appitalism and other third-party app sites, consumers can now find an app they’d like to purchase for their Apple device on Appitalism, click on the “buy from Appitalism beta” button and pay for it on Appitalism, which automatically get that app from the iTunes App Store as a separate background process. The consumer simply receives an SMS text message with a direct installation link for that app on their Apple device.

Simon Buckingham, CEO of Mobile Streams said: “For the apps market to reach its full mass-market growth potential, consumers need to be able to quickly and easily see, find, buy and get apps for any of their devices centrally from one place. Consumers love the fact that Appitalism has the full assortment of all the apps for all devices and the best apps are easy to find thanks to ratings and reviews. But they have consistently asked for a simpler way to pay for and get their apps. Appitalism App Concierge is our answer to simplifying and streamlining the app experience from the website at Appitalism.com and our tablet and mobile optimized sites at app.sm.”

“Whilst a highly innovative addition to the consumer experience, we designed Appitalism App Concierge to work perfectly with the existing apps ecosystem. Both Apple and all of the app developers who work with iTunes and the App Store continue to receive the same economic terms as they always have and developers are paid in exactly the same way -- through Apple. Appitalism simply automates a consumer’s purchase for them rather than requiring them to have to go to iTunes and the App Store in order to buy an app. By reducing friction in the apps purchase process, we expect purchases of Apple iOS apps to increase even further, benefiting both Apple and its ecosystem partners,” added Buckingham.

The beta launch of the App Concierge feature has gone live on the Appitalism service for both paid and free apps for all Apple iOS devices including all iPhone models, the iPad and the iPad 2 and the iPod touch.

In addition to being integrated as a feature into Appitalism, App Concierge has been designed as a stand-alone product for licensing to other third parties such as mobile network operators who distribute Apple devices and want their customers to have the option to utilize their content portals and billing relationships for iOS apps.
