Myriad Group Wins LAPTOP Magazine’s Best of CTIA Award for Best Enabling Technology

Myriad Group AG (SIX: MYRN), a global leader in mobile technology having shipped over 3.8 billion software applications on more than 2.2 billion phones, today announces it is a winner of the LAPTOP Magazine’s Best of CTIA Fall 2011 Awards in the category of Best Enabling Technology for its recently launched Alien Dalvik 2.0 technology.

Showcased at this week’s CTIA Enterprise & Applications conference, Myriad’s latest Alien release not only enables Android apps to run across non-Android smartphone platforms, but now enables the Android ecosystem to be extended across multiple devices and screens such as tablets, e-books, TVs, automotives and even avionics.

“We are delighted to have Myriad Alien Dalvik 2.0 recognized by LAPTOP Magazine’s Best of CTIA Fall 2011 Awards for Best Enabling Technology,” said Simon Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Myriad Group. “Alien Dalvik 2.0 is the first step towards creating a single app standard and marks yet another key milestone for Myriad Android innovations. At Myriad, we pride ourselves on breaking down technological barriers and industry silos to create a more flexible, consistent user experience, so that users can enjoy content seamlessly from one device to the next.”

Alien Dalvik 2.0 allows app store owners and publishers to quickly transcend multiple platforms and screens, leveraging existing software and middleware, all without compromising performance. Furthermore, Alien Dalvik 2.0 enables developers to create once and use many times, while allowing operators, OEMs, and even enterprise to streamline app rollout - taking the headache out of platform fragmentation and content management.

LAPTOP Magazine's editors and writers reported daily from the CTIA Enterprise & Applications show floor, covering the various mobile and wireless products on display with blog posts, photos, and videos. Of these, LAPTOP Magazine selected the winners for its Best of CTIA Fall 2011 Awards. The winners include groundbreaking devices, technologies, and applications that help to improve the consumer and business experience.
