Rajant Corporation to Showcase Wireless Communications Solutions at 2012 Mine Site Automation
At the upcoming Mine Site Automation & Communication Forum in Tucson, Rajant Corporation, the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh Networks and provider of pervasive, multi-frequency wireless solutions, will demonstrate how its family of Kinetic Mesh Networking solutions are leveraged throughout the U.S. to enhance mine safety, efficiency, and productivity.
The conference, to be held January 30th through February 1, 2012, at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort in Tucson, AZ, gathers mine site operators, mining executives, government regulators and mine inspectors to share tactical expertise, technical innovations and best practices in process automation. The forum includes a pre-conference workshop day followed by two days of conference sessions featuring presentations by technical experts on mine process automation. The forum also provides opportunities to network with other mine site operators and to learn about technology innovations being deployed at mining sites.
Rajant BreadCrumb® network nodes reliably provide data, video and voice communications in some of the largest and most productive open pit and underground mines in the U.S. The BreadCrumb nodes, along with Rajant’s InstaMesh routing technology, are used to serve a wide range of applications including fleet management, condition monitoring, high precision drilling and excavating and gas well monitoring.
“Mining operations require the careful, continuous orchestration and availability of many people and machines dispersed over a wide, inhospitable terrain,” noted Rajant Founder and CEO Robert Schena. “The number and constant mobility of the personnel, trucks, shovels and reclamation equipment on the typical mine site requires a network that is robust, flexible and able to handle a wide range of applications and massive data volume. Rajant BreadCrumbs and InstaMesh technology deliver the broadband connectivity that keeps things running smoothly, efficiently and safely.”
Kinetic Mesh Networking – Motion, Flexibility, Availability
Using Rajant’s advanced InstaMesh protocol, BreadCrumbs enable continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections. This dynamic frequency utilization capability allows for total network mobility – Kinetic Meshing – as well as robust fault tolerance, high throughput and low latency. The essence of Kinetic Mesh Networking is motion and flexibility, and Rajant’s BreadCrumb nodes provide a combination of power, portability and rugged construction for a wide range of applications. Using Rajant’s InstaMesh technology, these nodes communicate with other BreadCrumb nodes in motion to provide dynamic, on-the-fly frequency changes to adapt to physical surroundings or network availability. These capabilities, coupled with high-level data encryption and mesh-to-mesh authentication, allow for scalable, reliable broadband connectivity that can readily scale to hundreds of devices.
